I have recently learned of True Grit's 1995 environmental record, which includes 10 Clean Air Act violations, two major oil and chemical spills, and four Endangered Species Act violations. I am also deeply concerned about True Grit's recent controversial operations abroad, particularly in Malaysia. Please find enclosed a copy of a New Orleans Times-Picayune article on True Grit which details some of my concerns.

As an environmentally-conscious investor and pension-holder, I have made a deliberate decision to divest from companies such as True Grit, Inc. Thousands of investors like myself have chosen to invest our communities and our planet by supporting responsible corporate citizens. I urge True Grit, Inc. to re-examine their environmental performance and take concrete steps to improve environmental management at all levels.
