The Central American Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA) -- which covers the United States, 5 countries in Central America and the Dominican Republic -- threatens natural resources and environmental laws in one of the most biologically rich areas in the world. Friends of the Earth urged Congress to reject CAFTA, which narrowly passed this July.
